TGP International is delighted to announce summer vibes are returning to NYC at the beloved SoHo hotel, The Dominick, on Friday, May 27 with the highly anticipated reopening of the property's paradisiacal Hawaiian-inspired restaurant El Ta'Koy.
The hotel’s seasonal pool and cabanas adjacent to the restaurant make The Dominick an idyllic destination to grab drinks and bites on a sultry NYC day.
El Ta’Koy’s location at The Dominick’s Terrace on 7 is one of the latest concepts from Chef Luis Pous, who also oversees the culinary brand’s outpost at our Covent Garden venue, 3 Henrietta Street, in London and past pop-ups in Dubai and Miami. The restaurant delivers a refreshing gastronomic experience influenced by Chef Luis’ past restaurant experience in Hawaii where he frequented local restaurants, farmer’s markets and food trucks around the islands. Born in Cuba, Chef Luis merges Latin flavours and techniques with Hawaiian and Pacific Rim ingredients.
Diners can expect a unique menu featuring the likes of Kalua Pork Taquitos inspired by the Hawaiian tradition of a Luau and enhanced by the bold flavors and techniques used for tacos al pastor and cochinita pibil; a Lomi Salmon Tostada with tequila citrus cured salmon, avocado, wasabi aioli, crema de limon and ikura; and the Hamakua Farm Palm Salad with hearts of palm sourced from one of Chef Luis’ favorite farms in Hawaii complemented by fresh greens, quinoa, truffle agave, lime and olive oil. The tiki-inspired cocktail list includes El Ta’Koy’s signature “Storm in a Pineapple” served in a brass pineapple, with Plantation 3 Stars rum, Peychaud's Aperitivo, Cinzano Rosso, passionfruit, orange, and pineapple chunks and the new Saturn cocktail with gin, home-made falernum, lemon juice, home-made orgeat & passionfruit strained over crushed Ice.
Perfect for large gatherings or intimate moments, El Ta’Koy and Terrace on 7 are well-suited to host full buyouts of up-to 150 or cabana engagement celebrations, while offering an abundance of outdoor, poolside drinking and dining space accented by plush seating arrangements and ample greenery. As an added level of luxury, pool guests can also take advantage of the hotel’s new poolside spa treatment menu (attached) launching Memorial Day Weekend. That said, El Ta’Koy is perfect for guests and locals seeking a unique happy hour spot or an escape from NYC’s sweltering summer heat.
